John Wood – Muscle Maestro
Hi, I have spent over 7 years in Health and Fitness managing my own fitness centre. In 2012 I suffered a herniation of my L4-L5 Disc. I was referred to a neurosurgeon and her recommendation was to perform a discectomy. I was 27 years old at the time and really wanted to explore every possible avenue before undertaking back surgery. I tried Physiotherapy, Osteopathy, Chiropractic and Accupuncture treatments but nothing worked. After 6 months I was recommended to a Remedial Massage Therapist, Paul Clinch. Paul attacked my problem for the source spending adequate time on my tight, tense and previously neglected muscles to make a lasting change. Weekly treatments over the course of 3 months reduced my pain to a negligible level and removed the need for surgery.
Now, instead of waiting for pain before looking to get it fixed I have a proactive approach which includes fortnightly Remedial Massage appointments. These appointments are a concrete part of my schedule and still till this day keep me moving well, pain free and help to maximise my mobility.
The success I had with Remedial Massage Therapy over other modalities inspired me to obtain the qualification. My goal is to guide others towards their own proactive approach for the prevention of pain and injuries….
